Juventus enquire about Darwin Nunez
Juventus have opened discussions with Liverpool over the availability of Darwin Nunez as they continue negotiations to retain Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.
Kolo Muani spent the last six months on loan in Turin and impressed sufficiently for the Bianconeri to pursue a renewed deal.
Juventus are reportedly pushing for another loan move, this time with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
The French striker is also keen to extend his stay in Italy, given his limited prospects at PSG.
Despite Kolo Muani remaining their primary target, Juventus are exploring alternative options and have approached Liverpool in recent hours to seek clarity on Nunez’s situation, according to Football Italia.
Nunez, 26, was signed by Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 for €85 million but has struggled to meet expectations, managing seven goals and seven assists across 47 appearances in all competitions last season, only five of those goals came in the Premier League.
Liverpool’s reported €50 million valuation had earlier deterred Napoli, who opted to sign Udinese forward Lorenzo Lucca instead.
However, Juventus are hoping to negotiate a deal, likely a loan with an obligation to buy, to secure the Uruguay international.
While Nunez has a substantial offer on the table from Saudi side Al-Hilal, sources suggest he is still prioritising a future in European football.
