The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) follows the Federal Government’s Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS).

Although the 2026 recruitment covers entry positions on GL 07, GL 08, GL 09, GL 10 and GL 12, understanding the full Grade Level (GL) structure can help applicants plan their career progression within the public service.

Full Grade Levels (GL 01–17) and Estimated Monthly Salaries

 

  • GL 01 (Junior Support Staff): ₦70,000 – ₦85,000

  • GL 02 (Junior Support Staff):  ₦80,000 – ₦95,000

  • GL 03 (Clerical Assistant): ₦90,000 – ₦105,000

  • GL 04 (Clerical Officer) ₦100,000 – ₦120,000

  • GL 05 (Senior Clerical Officer) ₦110,000 – ₦135,000

  • GL 06 (Executive Assistant) ₦120,000 – ₦145,000

  • GL 07 (Executive Officer) ₦140,000 – ₦170,000

  • GL 08 (Administrative Officer II) ₦160,000 – ₦200,000

  • GL 09 (Administrative Officer I / Professional Officer) ₦180,000 – ₦230,000

  • GL 10 (Senior Administrative Officer) ₦200,000 – ₦270,000

  • GL 11 (Principal Officer) ₦230,000 – ₦290,000

  • GL 12 (Assistant Chief Officer) ₦260,000 – ₦330,000

  • GL 13 (Chief Officer) ₦300,000 – ₦380,000

  • GL 14 (Assistant Director) ₦340,000 – ₦430,000

  • GL 15 (Deputy Director) ₦400,000 – ₦500,000

  • GL 16 (Director) ₦480,000 – ₦600,000

GL 17 (Permanent Secretary/Director-General) (where applicable) ₦600,000 – ₦800,000+
