Sad news has hit the family of Big Brother Naija star and former winner, Phyna, as her younger sister, Ruth Otabor, has passed away.
Ruth was involved in a tragic accident on August 13, 2025, after being hit by a Dangote truck, just days after graduating from Auchi Polytechnic. Despite efforts to save her life, she succumbed to her injuries on August 31, 2025.
Phyna, who had been vocal about seeking justice and proper medical attention for her sister, recently revealed that the Dangote Group had agreed to cover Ruth’s treatment. Unfortunately, the intervention came too late.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed in a statement shared on Phyna’s Instagram account, which also noted that funeral arrangements will be announced soon.
Since the announcement, condolences have continued to pour in from fans, friends, and colleagues in the entertainment industry, who have expressed deep sympathy for Phyna and her family during this difficult time.
