El-rufai Questions Ribadu Over Alleged Importation Of Poisonous Chemical Into Nigeria
The former Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, has questioned the motive behind the alleged Importation of toxic chemical that is poisonous by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
The former Governor who wrote through his office accused the of importing very dangerous and highly sensitive Chemicals into Nigeria Thallium Sulphate from secret company in Poland.
According to him, in a letter obtained by CN-TV on Sunday, he said: “this is one of the tasteless poison; colourless and odourless, if ingested through cake or stew, it can trigger diarrhea and to eventually death.
“But it can also be used as a silent poison in a room, a small quantity into the air and the victim would inhale it into the lungs.
While seeking clarification, El-rufai asked: ” why the office is buying thallium sulphate into Nigeria.”
Part of the letter reads:
“1. The intended purpose and end-use of the imported thallium sulphate.
“2. The supplier identity and whether the material was imported under an existing chemical or defence permit.
“3. The total quantity and specific form or concentration being procured or already procured.
“4. The storage and security arrangements for the maserial upon arrival
“5. The regulatory oversight and coordination in place with NAFDAC, NCDC, and relevant public-health and environmental agencies.
“6. Whether any public-health risk assessments or hazard-mitigation plans have been developed, given the compound’s extreme toxicity,” the former Governor of Kaduna State said.
This was coming as controversy continued to trailed El-Rufai’s comment of tapping Ribadu’s telephone.
