Elon Musk Clashes with Trump Camp, Calls Out Gor in Brutal Post
Tech billionaire Elon Musk has publicly blasted Sergio Gor, a senior adviser to President Donald Trump, labeling him a “snake” in a heated exchange on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).
Musk’s remark came in response to a New York Post report suggesting that Gor, who currently leads the White House personnel office, has not completed essential paperwork required for a permanent security clearance. Despite overseeing vetting for thousands of staff, Gor’s own clearance status was called into question.
“He’s a snake,” Musk wrote, igniting fresh tensions with the Trump camp.
The White House, however, dismissed the allegations. Legal counsel David Warrington insisted that Gor’s security clearance is active and that he remains fully compliant with federal guidelines.
“Mr. Gor is fully compliant with all applicable ethical and legal obligations. His security clearance is active. Any insinuation he doesn’t maintain a clearance is false,” Warrington said.
Adding to the defense, Vice President JD Vance praised Gor’s loyalty and work ethic, stating:
“He’s done a great job and will continue to do so.”

Behind the scenes, the relationship between Musk and Gor has been frosty for months. Reports trace the friction back to a March Cabinet meeting, where Musk allegedly clashed with other members over proposed agency budget cuts. Trump ultimately reminded Musk that departmental heads—not DOGE, the office Musk formerly led—retain operational control.
The feud reportedly worsened after Gor helped terminate the NASA nomination of Jared Isaacman, a close Musk ally. The move is believed to have been a turning point that triggered Musk’s social media attacks against both Gor and Trump’s administration, including criticism of the “Big Beautiful Bill” that Trump had been campaigning to push through Congress.
While both sides continue to downplay any deep rift, Musk’s “snake” label is the latest sign that the once-cozy relationship between the tech mogul and Trump’s inner circle may be unraveling.
