Sam Larry Breaks Silence on Mohbad’s Death, Denies Harassment Allegations in Viral Video

Controversial Nigerian show promoter, Sam Larry, has finally spoken out regarding the allegations linking him to the events leading up to the death of fast-rising singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

In a candid interview with social media activist Verydarkman, Sam Larry addressed the public outrage that erupted after a viral video showed him confronting Mohbad at a beach. The clip, which resurfaced following Mohbad’s death in September 2023, led to widespread condemnation and accusations of harassment and intimidation.

Clarifying the incident, Sam Larry claimed the situation was grossly misinterpreted. He explained that the video, which lasts just nine seconds, was taken out of context.

“I was at the beach with my son. I saw Mohbad and approached him to demand a refund for a show he didn’t attend,” he said. “Zlatan was present and immediately stepped in to settle things. There was no form of assault.”

When questioned about why Zlatan Ibile never publicly clarified what transpired, Sam Larry implied that Zlatan had been warned to steer clear of the controversy. “Zlatan say if hin talk, say blood go comot for hin mouth,” he said, suggesting that speaking out could have put the rapper in danger.

Sam Larry also addressed his absence during the critical period of Mohbad’s passing. He stated that he was in Dubai at the time, while fellow artist and associate Naira Marley was in Amsterdam—both reportedly away from Nigeria when the tragic news broke.

The interview marks Sam Larry’s first public response nearly two years after the incident that fueled months of heated debate and speculation.
