Nigeria secure $1m prize after 3-2 victory over Morocco in WAFCON final
Nigeria’s Super Falcons defeated Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling WAFCON 2025 final to claim a record 10th title and take home $1 million in prize money.
The amount, which is double what was awarded in the previous edition, makes the Super Falcons the first team to receive the increased payout and lift the redesigned WAFCON trophy.
The dramatic victory saw Nigeria come from two goals down, with goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and a late winner by Jennifer Echegini sealing the historic win in Rabat.
