US withdraws from 66 global organisations (Full List)
US President Donald Trump, on Wednesday ordered the withdrawal of the United States from 66 global organisations.
This is contained in a statement by the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Rubio said the decision was taken in furtherance of Executive Order 14199, following an administration-wide review of international organisations receiving US participation or funding.
MYTRENDCASTER MEDIA reports that Trump concluded that many of the institutions are redundant, mismanaged, unnecessary, or actively working against US interests.
According to him, others have become platforms for ideological agendas that undermine national sovereignty and divert American resources with little tangible benefit.
