“I Regret My Actions” — Angela Okorie Apologises to Mercy Johnson, Ned Nwoko After Police Petition
Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie has issued a public apology to fellow actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Senator Ned Nwoko, marking a surprising turn in a long-standing online feud that recently escalated to legal attention.
Her apology, shared via a detailed Instagram post, comes in the wake of reports that Mercy Johnson had petitioned the police over what she described as repeated online bullying and cyber harassment. This reportedly led to Angela being invited for questioning by the police—an action that appears to have prompted a period of reflection.
“I am human, and when my emotions take over, I speak from the heart… but I realise now that my utterances, whether from a place of pain or not, were hurtful,” Angela wrote, admitting that her past comments may have been excessive and damaging.
The actress, who had in previous months engaged in what many described as online rants directed at Mercy Johnson and her family, acknowledged the toll such conflicts can take on mental health. “Your mental health is very important now and ever… do find a place in your heart to forgive me,” she said, directly addressing Mercy.

Angela also extended her apology to Senator Ned Nwoko, whom she said was caught in the crossfire of a reaction that “was blown out of proportion.” She admitted that her comments were made in anger and not intended to be disrespectful, noting her previous involvement in his political campaigns and family events as proof of mutual respect.
“I cannot intentionally disrespect you for any reason,” she wrote. “I deeply regret my actions and am sorry.”
In the latter part of her post, Angela also hinted at betrayal by friends and what she described as false narratives pushed by bloggers and online trolls. While she didn’t name names, she expressed a desire to let go of the animosity and move toward peace.
