About the Africa CDC AVoHC Kofi Annan Scholars Program

Financial Specialist Responsibilities

Successful applicants will provide technical leadership in strengthening financial management systems within National Public Health Institutes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assess existing financial policies, procedures, and systems.
• Develop financial management manuals covering budgeting, accounting, auditing, and fund disbursement.
• Ensure compliance with national financial regulations and international standards.
• Improve financial reporting, accountability, and auditing processes.
• Build the capacity of finance personnel through training and mentorship.
• Design and strengthen internal financial control systems.
• Develop financial risk management strategies.
• Advise institutional leadership on financial sustainability and resource mobilization.
• Promote transparency and accountability through stakeholder engagement.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA (advantageous).
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, policy development, or public sector financial systems.
