Hamzat Reacts After Sanwo-Olu Endorsement, Pledges Continuity Ahead of 2027
Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has expressed appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu following his endorsement as preferred successor ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He described the gesture as a strong vote of confidence.
‘His Trust Means a Great Deal’
In a post shared on Monday, Hamzat said he was honoured by the governor’s support, noting their long-standing working relationship.
“Today, I am honoured by the endorsement of my Governor, my brother and my friend… His trust means a great deal to me,” he wrote.
He added that both leaders have worked closely in managing the affairs of Lagos State over the years.

Pledges Continuity in Governance
Hamzat said he does not take the endorsement lightly, stressing his commitment to sustaining ongoing progress in the state.
“We’ve worked side by side in the service of Lagos State, and I don’t take this vote of confidence lightly,” he said.
He further pledged to continue delivering results if given the opportunity to lead.
“I remain committed to building on the progress we’ve made together… with integrity, focus and a clear sense of purpose,” he added.

2027 Race Begins to Take Shape
The endorsement marks an early signal of political alignment within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as preparations for the 2027 election gradually gather momentum.
