PSquare Saga Resurfaces As Peter Okoye Shares His ‘Truth’ In Six-Part Video

The long-running PSquare family feud has once again taken over social media after Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, released a six-part video detailing his side of the story behind the group’s breakup.

For years, fans have watched the famous twins, Peter and Paul Okoye, exchange subtle jabs online without directly addressing the issues that divided them. But this time, Peter said he was ready to speak openly.

According to him, it was the first time he had publicly explained what happened since PSquare split. He said he had written and tweeted about the matter in the past, but now felt it was time to tell the world “his truth.”

Many believe his decision to speak was influenced by a recent exchange between the brothers on social media. Peter had earlier said he did not care whether his children spoke the Igbo language, asking, “Who has the language helped?” Shortly afterwards, Paul shared a post saying the Igbo language had played a major role in his life. The timing of both comments led many to believe they were directed at each other.

However, Peter’s latest video shifted attention away from social media exchanges to what he described as the real reason behind PSquare’s collapse.

For years, many fans blamed Peter’s wife, Lola Omotayo, for the breakup of the music group. Peter strongly rejected that claim, insisting that Lola never interfered in PSquare’s business dealings.

Instead, he alleged that money and betrayal were at the heart of the crisis.

One of the biggest revelations in the videos was Peter’s allegation against their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye. According to him, royalties that should have been paid into Northside Entertainment, the company jointly owned by Peter, Paul and Jude, were allegedly diverted into another company known as Northside Music, which he claimed was owned by Jude and his wife, Ifeoma.

Peter said he confronted both Jude and Paul about Northside Music, but claimed they denied knowing anything about the company. He also questioned how music aggregators stopped paying royalties into Northside Entertainment and allegedly began paying into Northside Music instead.

To support his claims, Peter included documents and other materials in the six-part video, saying they served as evidence for the allegations he made.

Beyond the financial issues, Peter also spoke about the emotional impact the family dispute had on him over the years.

He revealed that every November 18, the day he and Paul were born, became painful because of the tension between them. According to him, he would deliberately leave his house on that day, either by travelling abroad or staying with friends, while Paul celebrated their birthday with parties. Some guests, he said, would still stop by his home to greet him.

Peter explained that every birthday also brought renewed public discussion about the PSquare crisis. To distract himself, he developed a tradition of releasing a new song every November 18.

He further disclosed that he has now changed the date he celebrates his birthday from November 18 to November 30, saying that is the day he now considers his personal birthday celebration.

Peter said he has forgiven both his brothers but no longer wants them to have access to him.

“I have forgiven them, but they can’t have access to me. I have forgiven myself first of all for allowing this,” he said.

He also maintained that he no longer wants PSquare to reunite as a music group. According to him, what he truly wanted was to restore a healthy relationship with his twin brother, not revive the business partnership.

“I don’t want PSquare again. All I wanted was my brother,” he said. Peter ac- knowledged that some people would accuse him of fighting his brothers because of money, but insisted the issue was about betrayal rather than wealth.

“Blood don’t steal from blood,” he declared.

The videos have generated intense reactions across social media, with Nigerians sharply divided over Peter’s revelations.

While some believe he is trying to present himself as the victim and questioned why he waited so many years before speaking publicly, others sympathize with him, saying it must have been difficult carrying what he described as years of betrayal.

Some commenters even blamed Jude for masterminding the breakup of PSquare, while accusing Paul of allowing himself to be influenced by their elder brother.

Jude, however, has denied Peter’s allegations.

Responding in a video, the former manager said the matter remains before the court. He disclosed that his passport has been seized for the past three years because of the ongoing legal case, preventing him from travelling.

Jude also accused Peter of refusing to appear in court to allow the case to proceed.

He further claimed that Peter’s recent public outburst was driven by jealousy, alleging that Paul was doing better professionally while Peter was struggling.
