Piers Morgan, Trump React as Suspect Arrested Over Charlie Kirk’s Death
British journalist and TV host Piers Morgan has reacted to the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Kirk was shot on September 10, 2025, while delivering a speech at Utah Valley University. His death has drawn tributes from across the political spectrum, though his wife, Erika, is yet to make a public statement.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Piers Morgan commented on the arrest of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of carrying out the attack.
“Charlie Kirk’s assassin Tyler Robinson, 22, killed him because he hated his opinions and thought he was a fascist,” Morgan wrote.

Robinson was taken into custody following an FBI manhunt that offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Kirk’s killer.
Reacting to the tragedy, Donald Trump paid tribute to Kirk and announced plans to honor him posthumously with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He also directed that flags be flown at half-staff across government buildings until September 14.
